Scope and Content Note The Benjamin Ryan Tillman Papers has twelve series. The Papers consist primarily of material from the years when Tillman served as Governor of South Carolina (1890-1894) and then U.S. Senator (1895-1918). Scope and Content Hartzog began creating this scrapbook in the 1940s. It contains Hartzog's memoirs and a variety of printed material documenting his career in education. Hartzog included material related to his family history and local history in Bamberg, South Carolina.
